Prism Opera
Arthur Rishi, tenor, performs frequently in the Boston area in opera, oratorio,
and recital. Recent performances have included the Male Chorus in Britten's
The Rape of Lucretia, the Evangelist in Keiser's St. Mark Passion,
Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610, Schütz's Musikalische Exequien,
Elijah , Mozart's C-minor Mass and Requiem, and Schubert's
Winterreise. He has sung the Evangelist in Bach's St. John Passion
at Occidental College
in Los Angeles, where he will also sing Messiah this April. He sings
frequently with the professional choruses of the Handel
& Haydn Society, and Emmanuel
Music, and was a member of Opera-to-Go. With pianist Kimberly Howe he has
presented a series of performances of Schubert's Die schoene Muellerin at
Harvard, Yale, and Boston Universities, at churches and concert halls in New
York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Montreal, and as featured
recitalist for First Night Providence. He is a graduate of Harvard
College, the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and
Boston University.
As an arts manager, he has held administrative positions with the Handel & Haydn Society, New
Haven Symphony Orchestra, Opera Theatre of Connecticut, and Harvard-Radcliffe
Collegium Musicum. He is currently director of the concert series in the
Class of 1959 Chapel at the Harvard Business
School, Events Coordinator in the Music Department at Northeastern
University, and is Music Director of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in
Brookline Village, Massachusetts.
